Cane Canoe Seat - Old Town
Made in USA for Old Town Canoes. Can be cut to fit your canoe. Frame is 1.5" by 13/16" select ash stock. Clear varnish finish.
Fits OLD TOWN CANOES such as... Camper, Hunter, Pathfinder, Predator, Penobscot, Tripper, Discovery, Pack, Stillwater, Katahdin, Guide, Otca ...and many other canoe models. Old Town Seats have varied over the years.
Cane seats can be easily cut down to fit in classic or current Old Town models. This seat can accommodate seat bolt spacing of about 8 to 9 inches (measured front to rear, center to center). -Lowering the seat with a longer bolt and spacer gives you a bit more wiggle room on that.
The 34 inch seat is used as a bow or stern seat. The 34 inch seat may be used as a center seat in a solo canoe. The 40 inch seat is generally used as a center seat in a wider canoe.
In terms of trimming the overall width; the 34inch Classic style seat can be cut down to just a bit over 13". The 40inch Classic style seat can be cut down to just a bit over 21".

A tough web canoe seat with 40" x 10" overall dimensions. Wide seating area (21"). The ends of this seat can easily be cut to fit your canoe width and shape.

Canoe Seat Hardware & Spacers
A set of spacers and hardware for one canoe seat.
Contains 4 Canoe Seat Spacers, 4 bolts, 4 cup washers, 4 flat washers and 4 nylon insert lock nuts.
Yes, this is stainless steel hardware.
Bolts are a flat philips head, 10-24 thread, in 4inch or 6inch length.
Note: These spacers and hardware will work with any wooden canoe seat.
It's easy to trim the wood spacer length as needed for your situation, since spacer length will vary with seat location and model year.
Choose a longer bolt and spacer if you like sitting (OR a lower center of gravity for more stability.)
Choose a shorter bolt and spacer if you like kneeling (and need more clearance under the seat.)
Old Town seat spacer is a round profile. Heavy Duty seat spacer (shown) is thicker, flat on two sides rounded on two sides.
All of these wood spacers have a clear varnish finish.

Spacers for canoe seats are sold per each. Replace old spacers or Lower your seat for more stability! Hard Wood Spacer, Pre-drilled for a #10 seat bolt.
Note: These spacers will work with any wooden canoe seat where the spacer rides on a vertical bolt, in-between the gunnel and seat. Our Heavy Duty spacers provide more surface area and greater seat stability.
It's OK to trim spacer length as needed for your situation.

Cane Canoe Seat Repair kit
Repair your old cane canoe seats yourself.
Cane is held in place by a wood spline. You need to pry that out and clean the groove out.
This kit includes new rectangle shaped cane material and a new wood spline. Instructions included. Made in USA. Sold per each.
PLEASE, measure the finished cane area on your old seat carefully... you can trim down the larger size cane but you cant add a 1/4 inch to the smaller size !!
Your 30 year old canoe seat can easily be different dimension than the new we seats sell today. Order a size thats a little larger than needed.
Example #1; our 34 inch Classic Cane Seat has a 34"x10" overall size, its seating area is 13"x10" and the finished cane area is 11"x8" -which includes the spline. Uses the Standard Cane Kit.
Example #2; our 40 inch Classic Wide Cane Seat has a 40"x10" overall size, its seating area is 20"x10" and the finished cane area is 19 1/4" x 8 1/4" -which includes the spline. Uses the Wide Cane Kit.
