Add a yoke to your canoe OR replace your old one. A yoke adds stiffness and strength, and facilitates canoe carrying.
A Yoke is curved to fit behind your neck and on your shoulders so one person may carry the canoe.
Canoes less than 16ft generally have a yoke in the center (installed at the balance point) plus one thwart. Those greater than 16ft should have two thwarts in addition to the yoke.
This is a high quality made in USA Yoke we have used and sold for several decades! Clear varnish finish. UV-resistant. Our 36 inch size Standard Yoke is not trimmed, so it may be slightly more than 36 inches overall. Our 39 inch size Standard Yoke is not trimmed, so it may be slightly more than 39 inches overall.
Our Standard yoke is an excellent replacement for what comes in most of our better quality canoes. We have sizes to fit just about any canoe out there.
For a more sturdy yoke please see our Heavy Duty Yoke, our Extra Wide Yoke or our Mad River Yoke -these yokes also come is longer sizes.
Its best to order one a bit longer than you think you need; since you can easily trim the overall length to fit in your canoe perfectly. Just seal the cut ends with varnish or exterior polyurethane.
Although we have a great selection right now, our suppliers have told us supplies will be tight for the 2026 season. Demand for kayak and canoe related items is at an all time high. Due to complications, supply chain issues and also unprecedented demand, many of our suppliers are taking longer to fill our orders.

We usually ship in stock orders within a few days. Occasionally, we may send items direct from the manufacturer which may take longer. If you have concerns about getting your order by a certain date, proper fit or sizing it would be best to place your order by phone so you can ask us your question.

Boats that we ship to you MUST be signed for. Any shipping prices on our website are only an estimate; we will confirm actual prices with you via email once we have your order/address.
NOTE; We recommend that you completely unwrap and inspect the boat from one end to the other, making note on the shipping document of any tears in the packaging and/or damage. By signing for it you are agreeing with the shipping company that your boat has been received in good condition.
Once a boat is shipped it is yours. You are responsible to inspect the entire boat and note any damage on the shipping document. We are not trying to be harsh here but simply blunt as to the shipping company's rules.
