• Box Stores only answer is cheap, ...they can't match our service, quality or longevity.

The container of canoes from China has no parts in it. The Box store certainly stocks no parts.

In these days of poor customer service, your warranty is only as good as the place you buy from.  Unfortunately, poor service is Not limited to cheap canoes! When your seat or handle breaks, or you lose the end cap, you will find no replacements are available. Shop at the box stores and you'll find you're on your own both before and after the sale. Just like for the last 50+ years, Oak Orchard has parts in stock for the brands we recommend and sell. We can repair the canoe you bought from us and get you back on the water. Just like for the last 50+ years, we can phone our rep (a real live person that know what we are talking about) at Old Town, Esquif, Rheaume or Wenonah and easily get parts for the service you need.

We get calls all the time from people trying to find parts for those "unique" box store canoes, unfortunately parts are just not available, anywhere. What will you do WHEN your seat, endcap or backrest BREAKS? You can't even get a yoke or handle to fit them.
We call them "white elephants"; cheap box store canoes which turn out to be a costly mistake and provide a hobby of frustration rather than fun."

NOTICE...The company that made the Royalex material for OLD TOWN and ALL other canoe brands has stopped production. Royalex was great material for canoes which we sold for many years. If you need a Light canoe that is VERY durable, we now have the new and improved Royalex 2.0 replacement in stock, called T-formex. Examples of high-quality T-formex canoes would be Esquif and Wenonah. T-formex has proven to be the best canoe material by far, if you need Lots of durability and a reasonable weight.
