These are the high-quality Rudder brackets and mounts from our great brands that we use in our kayak repair shop. Hardware is not included with these items since that may vary per model. We can sell you hardware for these if you let us know more about your kayak.
Rudder Catchers: -sometimes called M-blocks, these hold the rudder blade while it's folded up onto the deck.
- Necky Style Rudder Catcher, $16.99 When the rudder blade folds up onto the deck it fits into this rudder catcher bracket. Used on many Old Town, Ocean Kayak, Necky and other kayak models. Fits best on a flat surface.
- Wilderness Systems Style Rudder Catcher, $14.99 When the rudder blade folds up onto the deck it fits into this rudder catcher bracket. Used on many Wilderness Systems and other kayak models. Fits well on a flat or contour surface.
Rudder Brackets: -these hold the rudder assembly onto the stern end of the kayak.
- Use the Molded Rudder Bracket for mounting bolt holes 5/8" on center. Used on many Tsunami and Pamlico models. Use with our Universal Touring Kayak Rudder -Short Pin.
- Use the Stainless Steel Rudder Bracket for mounting bolt holes 5/8" on center to 3/4" on center (one of the holes in this bracket is ovalized, so you have some wiggle room on your measurement.) Use with our Universal Touring Kayak Rudder -Short Pin.
- The Aquaterra Rudder Bracket is for Aquaterra or Perception models such as Acadia, Chinook, Prism, Scimitar, Spectrum, plus Jocassee and Keowee tandems. Cast Aluminum. Use with our Universal Touring Kayak Rudder -Long Pin.
- The Aquaterra Sea Lion Rudder Bracket is molded to fit perfectly over the pointed stern end of this model. Use with our Universal Touring Kayak Rudder -Short Pin.
- Necky Style Rudder Bracket, fits models that have FOUR nuts molded in the plastic at the stern end line up with the holes in this rudder bracket. Used on many Old Town, Necky, and Ocean Kayak models. Use with the Necky style Kayak Rudder.
Although we have a great selection right now, our suppliers have told us supplies will be tight for the 2026 season. Demand for kayak and canoe related items is at an all time high. Due to complications, supply chain issues and also unprecedented demand, many of our suppliers are taking longer to fill our orders.

We usually ship in stock orders within a few days. Occasionally, we may send items direct from the manufacturer which may take longer. If you have concerns about getting your order by a certain date, proper fit or sizing it would be best to place your order by phone so you can ask us your question.

Items are shipped via Mail to such locations and are not returnable or refundable.We cannot ship boats overseas.

We can often quote shipping for you within NY State.........Also, we have a truck going from NY to FL each month........And, we have a truck going from NY to New England 2x per month........if you would like to buy some canoes or kayaks from us,....please call us, ph;(585) 682-4849 or email us for a quote.
Boats that we ship to you MUST be signed for. Any shipping prices on our website are only an estimate; we will confirm actual prices with you via email once we have your order/address.
NOTE; We recommend that you completely unwrap and inspect the boat from one end to the other, making note on the shipping document of any tears in the packaging and/or damage. By signing for it you are agreeing with the shipping company that your boat has been received in good condition.
Once a boat is shipped it is yours. You are responsible to inspect the entire boat and note any damage on the shipping document. We are not trying to be harsh here but simply blunt as to the shipping company's rules.
