Explorer is designed for outstanding stability with no surprises. Classic lines and a sleek hull shape ensure paddling takes very little effort; tandem, solo, or with the grand kids along.
The 14′ Explorer is a very versatile canoe and it’s suitable for all kinds of activities such as day trips, camping, family canoe trips, hunting or fishing.
This canoe will be enjoyed as much by a beginner as an expert. Its 38 1/2“ width makes it the most stable boat in our range and its large capacity allows for safe expeditions for paddlers of any age.
The Explorer was developed from our classic Mohawk model in red cedar, which has been much appreciated for decades. Our modern composites offer exceptional lighter weight and durability versus the cedar counterpart.
The Explorer 14 is one of our most versatile models that can be appreciated by any type of paddler. The Explorer is designed to be easily paddled tandem or solo. Being a symmetrical hull, the solo paddler may face center while in the bow seat for good balance and control.

Although we have a great selection right now, our suppliers have told us supplies will be tight for the 2026 season. Demand for kayak and canoe related items is at an all time high. Due to complications, supply chain issues and also unprecedented demand, many of our suppliers are taking longer to fill our orders.

We usually ship in stock orders within a few days. Occasionally, we may send items direct from the manufacturer which may take longer. If you have concerns about getting your order by a certain date, proper fit or sizing it would be best to place your order by phone so you can ask us your question.

Boats that we ship to you MUST be signed for. Any shipping prices on our website are only an estimate; we will confirm actual prices with you via email once we have your order/address.
NOTE; We recommend that you completely unwrap and inspect the boat from one end to the other, making note on the shipping document of any tears in the packaging and/or damage. By signing for it you are agreeing with the shipping company that your boat has been received in good condition.
Once a boat is shipped it is yours. You are responsible to inspect the entire boat and note any damage on the shipping document. We are not trying to be harsh here but simply blunt as to the shipping company's rules.
