The Aluminum Oars shaft is made of lightweight aluminum and a fiberglass reinforced Nylon blade to ensure maximum strength and durability. A 7.5" x 18" blade delivers superior power and control. We recommend the metal Clamp-on type of pin set we that we show here in stock.
- Proper oar length varies with the width and depth of your craft - in general we recommend 6.5ft oars for most for most wider canoes such as Old Town Discovery 133 and Osprey. We recommend 7ft oars for models such as Old Town Discovery Sport 15, and the Grumman SportBoat, Esquif Rangely, and most aluminum jonboats OR rowboats.
Oar-Locks, Pin-sets and Oar-Lock Sockets...
Bolt-on Oarlock sockets are the black molded style we use on Old Town, Wenonah and Esquif vinyl canoe gunwales. Hardware included is good for most models. Clamp-on Oarlock pinsets are metal and may be used on our Aluminum oars and traditional wood oars. -We like this style since you can easily customize the pinset position on the shaft for your particular boat.

The Sculling Oars are finely crafted basswood with a sculling blade, very smooth and quiet thru the water! These are the Alden or Piantedosi type of wooden sculling oars, not a utility type. Sculling oars are Lightweight with good strength and durability. Reg. $599.95/pair. Boats that we ship to you MUST be signed for. Any shipping prices on our website are only an estimate; we will confirm actual prices with you via email once we have your order/address.
NOTE; We recommend that you completely unwrap and inspect the boat from one end to the other, making note on the shipping document of any tears in the packaging and/or damage. By signing for it you are agreeing with the shipping company that your boat has been received in good condition.
Once a boat is shipped it is yours. You are responsible to inspect the entire boat and note any damage on the shipping document. We are not trying to be harsh here but simply blunt as to the shipping company's rules.
