The standard rudder on a Hobie Passport must be raised or lowered by hand. Of course you can't reach it easily; so this kit is a great bargain and very useful every time you use your kayak!
This upgraded rudder kit for the Hobie Passport 10 and Passport 12.5 gives users up/down control from the seat, and boosts maneuverability and lateral stability. When turning in tight quarters, or sailing the Passport 10.5 or 12.0, this rudder has more authority than the stock rudder. Not only does the larger blade improve performance, it also allows the user to stow the rudder when going extremely shallow. The up/down control feature is particularly useful in launching and landing situations, or when clearing debris from the rudder blade.
Rudder up/down control from the seat allows for clearing debris and easy stowage or deployment of the rudder.
Improved maneuverability at low speeds provides better boat handling in tight quarters.

Boats that we ship to you MUST be signed for. Any shipping prices on our website are only an estimate; we will confirm actual prices with you via email once we have your order/address.
NOTE; We recommend that you completely unwrap and inspect the boat from one end to the other, making note on the shipping document of any tears in the packaging and/or damage. By signing for it you are agreeing with the shipping company that your boat has been received in good condition.
Once a boat is shipped it is yours. You are responsible to inspect the entire boat and note any damage on the shipping document. We are not trying to be harsh here but simply blunt as to the shipping company's rules.
