As the name suggests, this kayak strikes a perfect balance between two worlds. The Equinox (aka Rio 140) brings together the comfort and stability of recreational kayaks and the performance of a true sea kayak. The efficient V hull and hard chines provide stability and glide, all in one sleek package. The Equinox tracks very well and yet also performs leaned turns with ease.
The Equinox comes full rigged with elegant styling, Sea Dog adjustable foot pedals, front deck bungees, rear deck re-entry lines, recessed deck fittings and Eddyline's retractable carrying handles and security loops. For comfort and fit we provide hip pads, padded thigh braces, and our deluxe 4-way adjustable padded backrest fitted to the super comfortable Infinity seat system. The Equinox will delight you with its performance in the water and shines bright under the sun and moon.

An ample cockpit is equipped with thigh braces for excellent control and hip pads and thigh pads for comfort. The sliding Infinity Seat system helps the Equinox fit a wide range of paddlers.
The Fully Adjustable Infinity Seat can slide forward or back, which lets the Equinox fit a wide range of paddlers. The ample cockpit is equipped with thigh braces that give excellent control to the small, medium or large sized paddler. By moving the seat forward or back the paddler can create the perfect fit into the thighbraces perfectly -just for your size.

All these are sea kayak features, but in a sporty, mid-sized kayak weighing just 45 pounds.

Although we have a great selection right now, our suppliers have told us supplies will be tight for the 2026 season. Demand for kayak and canoe related items is at an all time high. Due to complications, supply chain issues and also unprecedented demand, many of our suppliers are taking longer to fill our orders.

We usually ship in stock orders within a few days. Occasionally, we may send items direct from the manufacturer which may take longer. If you have concerns about getting your order by a certain date, proper fit or sizing it would be best to place your order by phone so you can ask us your question.

Boats that we ship to you MUST be signed for. Any shipping prices on our website are only an estimate; we will confirm actual prices with you via email once we have your order/address.
NOTE; We recommend that you completely unwrap and inspect the boat from one end to the other, making note on the shipping document of any tears in the packaging and/or damage. By signing for it you are agreeing with the shipping company that your boat has been received in good condition.
Once a boat is shipped it is yours. You are responsible to inspect the entire boat and note any damage on the shipping document. We are not trying to be harsh here but simply blunt as to the shipping company's rules.

I had simultaneously ordered a pair of Malone Steeltop Crossbars to attach to the roof rails of my Subaru Impreza; assuming that the Malone bars would be identical to Thule square bars, I ordered the snap-around mounts for the gull wing.
