Practical for tandem or solo paddling, the Heron is a compact canoe that is excellent for casual activities on a variety of waters.
This type of all-around canoe is often preferred by people who aren't doing exotic trips to unusual destinations, but who enjoy a canoe casually for a variety of purposes.
When we designed the Heron we wanted to prove that a well thought out recreation design can be pleasant to paddle as well as functional.
The Heron's blend of stability, efficiency, maneuvering and capacity makes it truly useful in a broad range of situations.
Stable enough for less experienced paddlers to use comfortably, the Heron's performance makes traveling longer distances practical, including one or two day trips.
The Heron tracks better and is more efficient than our Fisherman.
Yet at 15 feet it is still short enough for tight, twisting streams and occasional rapids.
The Heron is also quite practical for the solo paddler.
Our comfortable SuperSeats are easily added to the existing seats, these provide a padded seat and supportive backrest while you paddle. SuperSeats can face either direction and they are quickly removed for cartopping.
Go paddling for the day OR for a weekend.

Its shallow arch bottom is very steady on fair waters, and its broad beam draws just inches.
Heron is easy to control, and its shallow draft give access to areas that would be difficult for another craft.
Being that so compact and portable our Heron is an ideal choice for use at the cottage or cabin where kids will use it often. Parents will find it to be a fine paddling canoe that is also safe on waves due to its proper depth.
Amateur Naturalists like the Heron for wildlife viewing, star-gazing, or other day trips. Older folks landlocked by the bulk of their old plastic or fiberglass canoe will be able to continue their passion out on the water with our Kevlar ultralight at just 36 lbs.
Heron is often used by one OR two people for recreation paddling or day touring.
Heron has good depth and volume in the center with fine entry at both ends. Ample freeboard is maintained when loaded with gear for the day or weekend.
Kevlar Ultralight and a versatile layout makes the Heron not too large for a relaxing afternoon paddle in tandem OR solo mode.
Wenonah canoes are well known for their light weight and efficiency. Quite often our customers are surprised how easily this canoe moves thru the water, since so many other recreation canoes are not nearly as efficient.

Although we have a great selection right now, our suppliers have told us supplies will be tight for the 2026 season. Demand for kayak and canoe related items is at an all time high. Due to complications, supply chain issues and also unprecedented demand, many of our suppliers are taking longer to fill our orders.

Boats that we ship to you MUST be signed for. Any shipping prices on our website are only an estimate; we will confirm actual prices with you via email once we have your order/address.
NOTE; We recommend that you completely unwrap and inspect the boat from one end to the other, making note on the shipping document of any tears in the packaging and/or damage. By signing for it you are agreeing with the shipping company that your boat has been received in good condition.
Once a boat is shipped it is yours. You are responsible to inspect the entire boat and note any damage on the shipping document. We are not trying to be harsh here but simply blunt as to the shipping company's rules.
