Our innovative ratchet pulley quickly secures the bow OR stern end of your kayak or canoe without tying any pesky knots. Our Bow-Stern tie downs are Essential equipment for cartopping any kayaks and canoes.

Just pull the Line to tighten.

Zinc coated hardened steel S-hooks will grab any metal part or metal hole under your vehicle like no other strap or rope can! See our important notes about using hood loops on most modern vehicles. For the bow we often like to use one strap going to the left and then another one going to the right. This way the strap is not just sliding thru the handle, and the bow is immobilized.

Bow and Stern lines (or straps) are important AND recommended by Oak Orchard, Yakima and Thule for transport of ALL kayaks and canoes on ANY roof rack.

We also us these tie-downs in the bed of a pickup truck.
We often use 2, 3 or 4 of these per kayak ...Whatever it takes to immobilize the craft, and be safe.

Please... don’t try to use ratchet straps on your kayak or canoe.

Boats that we ship to you MUST be signed for. Any shipping prices on our website are only an estimate; we will confirm actual prices with you via email once we have your order/address.

NOTE; We recommend that you completely unwrap and inspect the boat from one end to the other, making note on the shipping document of any tears in the packaging and/or damage. By signing for it you are agreeing with the shipping company that your boat has been received in good condition.

Once a boat is shipped it is yours. You are responsible to inspect the entire boat and note any damage on the shipping document. We are not trying to be harsh here but simply blunt as to the shipping company's rules.

I had simultaneously ordered a pair of Malone Steeltop Crossbars to attach to the roof rails of my Subaru Impreza; assuming that the Malone bars would be identical to Thule square bars, I ordered the snap-around mounts for the gull wing.
