When you’ve got the best in-class recreational kayak, what do you do next? You think about how to make that design accessible to more people. Recreational means a lot of different things to different paddlers. For some folks, recreational means accessories, and accessories require space, so we took our great Swede form design and upsized it. We put some serious cubic inches in the cockpit and voila ― the Santee 116 Sport! A recreational kayak that gives you room for tackle boxes, fishing gear, dry bags and perhaps the family dog ― appropriately clad in a doggie PFD of course. In addition to the extra space in the cockpit, the Santee 116 Sport also features a sealed rear bulkhead and easy to use hinge hatch, and at 36.5 pounds you aren’t sacrificing performance for extra space. Why? Because the 116 Sport rides on our magic Swede form hull -which maximizes glide and tracking in a compact and light weight size.

The Santee 116 Sport is 11 1/2 feet of paddling perfection that is ultra light and super easy to maneuver on and off the water. This kayak features sleek lines, smooth comfort-grip handles, comfort seating, and the ability to add our optional Work Deck Console to the front of the cockpit.

Easy Load roof rack solution: the Prima fits perfect in Oak Orchard "Gull Wing" saddles, combine with our Kayak Roller Loader for an Easy Load onto your vehicle. For the Santee 116 Sport we use one Narrow Gull Wing and one XL Gull Wing.
Although we have a great selection right now, our suppliers have told us supplies will be tight for the 2026 season. Demand for kayak and canoe related items is at an all time high. Due to complications, supply chain issues and also unprecedented demand, many of our suppliers are taking longer to fill our orders.

We usually ship in stock orders within a few days. Occasionally, we may send items direct from the manufacturer which may take longer. If you have concerns about getting your order by a certain date, proper fit or sizing it would be best to place your order by phone so you can ask us your question.

Boats that we ship to you MUST be signed for. Any shipping prices on our website are only an estimate; we will confirm actual prices with you via email once we have your order/address.
NOTE; We recommend that you completely unwrap and inspect the boat from one end to the other, making note on the shipping document of any tears in the packaging and/or damage. By signing for it you are agreeing with the shipping company that your boat has been received in good condition.
Once a boat is shipped it is yours. You are responsible to inspect the entire boat and note any damage on the shipping document. We are not trying to be harsh here but simply blunt as to the shipping company's rules.
