The Avalon is one of the original designs from Esquif, it reminds us of some of our favorite canoes from years ago... The easy paddling and light feel of a Penobscot from Old Town, and that great shallow Vee hull is light and slender like the Malecite, but with more depth and so much more versatility, reminds us of the Explorer from Mad River. Noteworthy that this T-formex LITE model is nearly the same weight as the much less rugged Mad River Explorer in Kevlar (and 20 pounds lighter than the Explorer in Royalex.) It's just amazing how Esquif has managed to stuff all these excellent traits into one canoe.
Avalon is ideal for day trips by recreational canoeists, as well as longer adventures with canoe trippers, and all who want a rugged canoe for versatile paddling on lakes or rivers, all while being much lighter and efficient than your average canoe.
When the winds pick up the moderate profile and shallow Vee hull of the Avalon provide improved tracking and control. Made out of T-Formex Lite, for the lightest weight for improved portaging and cartopping at the end of a long day on the water, while still being very durable when compared to more costly composite options.
Avalon is available in T-former LITE, for Very good durability and lighter weight all in one great canoe. LITE models have a lighter hull, as well as lighter gunwales, lighter seats and lighter thwarts.
While less robust compared to the original T-formex, this T-formex LITE version is still Much less likely to crack when compared the most rugged options from Swift or NovaCraft. When compared to other canoe materials, T-formex LITE is VERY light and portable, yet provides much more durability. In our experience T-formex LITE slides over shallow rocky areas with much less damage than composite canoes, including those costing 3X more!

Boats that we ship to you MUST be signed for. Any shipping prices on our website are only an estimate; we will confirm actual prices with you via email once we have your order/address.
NOTE; We recommend that you completely unwrap and inspect the boat from one end to the other, making note on the shipping document of any tears in the packaging and/or damage. By signing for it you are agreeing with the shipping company that your boat has been received in good condition.
Once a boat is shipped it is yours. You are responsible to inspect the entire boat and note any damage on the shipping document. We are not trying to be harsh here but simply blunt as to the shipping company's rules.
