Rio is expressly designed for the small to medium paddler looking for a compact touring style kayak with spirited performance and nimble handling.
At just under 12 feet in length and only 35 pounds, the Rio presents a delightful combination of comfortable stability with a playful and very efficient hull.
While ready for the first time paddler, this kayak will soon tempt you to experiment with more advanced techniques and paddle strokes. Expert paddlers soon find that the Rio is a blast to paddle and almost as fun to carry when compared to their big heavy sea kayak.
Keeping up with other touring kayaks is easy, and the extra light weight and smaller size make car topping and storage a joy.
The Rio is fully equipped with 10-inch performance hatches Bow and Stern for easy access to gear. Eddyline installs Carbonlite bulkheads Bow and Stern and deck lines for safety, and retractable carry handles for transport ease. Rio sports our super comfortable Infinity Seat System, Deluxe Backrest, and has padded thigh braces for a custom fit.
All these are sea kayak features, but in a sporty, compact kayak weighing just 35 pounds.
The Rio will bring a smile to your face every on every outing.
Although we have a great selection right now, our suppliers have told us supplies will be tight for the 2026 season. Demand for kayak and canoe related items is at an all time high. Due to complications, supply chain issues and also unprecedented demand, many of our suppliers are taking longer to fill our orders.

We usually ship in stock orders within a few days. Occasionally, we may send items direct from the manufacturer which may take longer. If you have concerns about getting your order by a certain date, proper fit or sizing it would be best to place your order by phone so you can ask us your question.
All orders shipped via UPS or US Postal Service at our discretion.
We reserve the right to change product specs, change colors, change prices OR correct errors at any time without notice.

Boats that we ship to you MUST be signed for. Any shipping prices on our website are only an estimate; we will confirm actual prices with you via email once we have your order/address.
NOTE; We recommend that you completely unwrap and inspect the boat from one end to the other, making note on the shipping document of any tears in the packaging and/or damage. By signing for it you are agreeing with the shipping company that your boat has been received in good condition.
Once a boat is shipped it is yours. You are responsible to inspect the entire boat and note any damage on the shipping document. We are not trying to be harsh here but simply blunt as to the shipping company's rules.

I had simultaneously ordered a pair of Malone Steeltop Crossbars to attach to the roof rails of my Subaru Impreza; assuming that the Malone bars would be identical to Thule square bars, I ordered the snap-around mounts for the gull wing.
