Esquif Echo LITE

With its beautiful curves and elegant design, the Echo will definitely catch your attention. In addition to its unique look, one thing you will surely notice when you paddle it is how easy it is to maneuver.

“The Echo is a canoe I can dance with on flat water, or take down class II rivers, or on overnight trips” mentioned Karen Knight when Esquif asked the National Champion what made the Echo so special.

With its great speed, tracking and secondary stability, our Echo is the smoothest and most reliable companion you can have on your solo paddling adventures.

Echo 2.0 or Echo LITE...  Our best advice is to focus as much as possible on what you'll be dealing with 80 or 90 percent of the time, and not get too side-tracked with things that might happen once or twice per year.  Either version of the Echo will have the same thoughtfully designed hull shape to be very capable in swift waters or rapids, without sacrificing glide and tracking you want for slower rivers and lakes.  The LITE version is ideal for most of our customer who do not pack real heavy loads and do not see much whitewater action.  The reward for this is a much lighter canoe to carry.  Not sure how heavy you are willing to carry?  This is best done by lifting each version and being honest with yourself.  In a few years you will consider weight to be even more significant.  When most of our customers test paddle the Echo LITE we just don't see them pushing it down in the water very much due to the high buoyancy of this design. Bonafide rapids is the situation where you would want extra depth of the 2.0 Echo.  Another would be an XXL guy, and those who really load up the gear.  However, that extra depth might be considered to be a bad thing on a lake, while lightly loaded, being more sail area for the wind, and of course, more weight on the portage.  

Echo is available in T-former LITE, for Very good durability and lighter weight all in one great canoe.  LITE models have a lighter hull, as well as lighter gunwales, lighter seats and lighter thwarts.  Echo is also available in the original extra-durable T-formex.

While less robust compared to the original T-formex, the LITE version is still Much less likely to crack when compared the most rugged options from Swift or NovaCraft. When compared to other canoe materials, T-formex LITE is VERY light and portable, yet provides much more durability.  In our experience T-formex LITE slides over shallow rocky areas with much less damage than composite canoes.
