Being longer and wider, the Cargo 17 provides much more usable space for passengers AND gear. The larger size makes a Super Stable platform for hunting and fishing.
Larger overall size also increases buoyancy and stability, you will also notice this model has very high capacity when compared to all other square stern models.

This square stern craft is wide and stable for hunting or fishing, yet light and portable compared to other sport boats. At 95 pounds this sport boat is still light enough for car top transportation, and may even carried a short distance with the portage yoke.
A sturdy Boat Cart is a great idea for a longer portage.
Light and maneuverable, the square stern Cargo 17 was designed for carrying extra-large loads to remote wilderness destinations. Cargo’s versatility as a hunting and fishing canoe is enhanced by its phenomenal stability. Wide, high and dry, the Cargo 17 is designed to handle an outboard motor up to 3HP yet is also easily maneuvered by paddle when needed.
The Cargo is the work-horse this category. The Cargo 17 is a multi-purpose sport boat perfectly adapted to fishing and hunting activities. Extremely stable and quiet, it offers tremendous load capacity. Its design allows for a very shallow draft and also lets you cover distance very quickly with a motor. The interior foam core feature of our T-formex hull material, insulates you from cold waters and provides reliable transport to the most remote and rugged lakes and rivers.
When compared to other flat back canoes our Cargo 17 is is a real work-horse, with tons of stability, capacity and buoyancy for multiple passengers, plus Lots of gear.
T-formex is much more durable than those crinkly aluminum boats.

Cargo may be ordered with less seats (thwarts would be in their placed for no cost difference.) Kevlar Skid Plates may be added for $389.
Cargo may be ordered in a special color. Add $399 for a non-standard color.
Although we have a great selection right now, our suppliers have told us supplies will be tight for the 2026 season. Demand for kayak and canoe related items is at an all time high. Due to complications, supply chain issues and also unprecedented demand, many of our suppliers are taking longer to fill our orders.

Boats that we ship to you MUST be signed for. Any shipping prices on our website are only an estimate; we will confirm actual prices with you via email once we have your order/address.
NOTE; We recommend that you completely unwrap and inspect the boat from one end to the other, making note on the shipping document of any tears in the packaging and/or damage. By signing for it you are agreeing with the shipping company that your boat has been received in good condition.
Once a boat is shipped it is yours. You are responsible to inspect the entire boat and note any damage on the shipping document. We are not trying to be harsh here but simply blunt as to the shipping company's rules.
