Universal Rudder Kit - Kayak Fit List

Old Town:

  • Loon 160T (requires tandem universal rudder kit) -let us know what you have for footbraces, if any.
  • Perhaps a few others, but only models that have the hole molded into the stern.

Aquaterra:

  • Aquaterra models: Chinook, Spectrum, Acadia 12.5, Keowee 2, Scimitar, Sea Lion -all require a special rudder bracket at extra cost, beyond the cost of the Universal rudder kit.

Perception:

  • Carolinas, Acadias, America, Catalina, Captiva, Antigua, Aurora, Swifty II, Fontana, Mainstream Escapade and some others that have the hole molded into the stern.
  • Aurora, Swifty II, Fontana, Mainstream Escapade and some others that have the hole molded into the stern (requires tandem universal rudder kit) -let us know what you have for footbraces, if any.

Dagger

  • Drift, Willow, Cypress, Magellan
  • Savannah, Edisto
  • Specter
  • Catalyst - needs to have molded hole in the stern.
  • Drift (requires tandem universal rudder kit)

Wilderness Systems:

  • Most Wilderness Systems kayak don't have a hole molded into the stern for a rudder, but they do have two bolts molded into the stern where the rudder would attach.
  • If you order our Universal Rudder kit you will need to specify the year and model you have.  Another option is to order our Wilderness System rudder kit and specify your model -With either style, we'll include the proper bracket along with the rudder kit.
  • The Focus and the current Tsunami models have a special hole near the back for a rudder to plug in, but previous years Tsunami (and other models) need a bracket bolted on to hold the rudder.

  • Any models that come with 2 bolts in the stern end -to hold the required rudder bracket.
