Trailer Conversion Kit
Build your own Canoe or Kayak Trailer with our Trailer Conversion Kit!
Oak Orchard’s Trailer Conversion Kit will turn your regular trailer into a real Canoe or Kayak trailer.
This 18 piece kit includes powder coated steel uprights -which are adjustable in height, Yakima round crossbars, U-Bolts, end caps and hardware.
We use this kit on Triton, Karavan and other brand trailers. Designed to fit a trailer frame that is 3" tall, trailer frame width can be up to 2.5".

We use this kit to Customize our trailers in order to get our customer the Best trailer system for a particular Canoe or Kayak(s).
We recommend that you add specific features to this kit such as Gull Wing saddles OR J-cradles for a kayak OR add gunwale brackets for a canoe.
The trailer kit uprights adjust from about 22.5" to 16" overall. That usually gives you about 19" to 12" between the trailer frame and the bottom of the bar. Keep in mind the knobs or wing nuts for gunwale brackets or kayak saddles tend to hang a bit lower than the crossbar, if you add any of those items. With this setup we usually have room to slide another kayak on bunks underneath the crossbar while other kayaks are on top of the crossbar.

Occasionally we need more room for the bottom kayak. Our Extra Tall trailer uprights adjust from about 29" to 23" overall. That usually gives you about 25" to 19" between the trailer frame and the bottom of the bar.
Add $100 for our Trailer Kit with Extra Tall uprights.
Deduct $50 for our LOW Trailer Kit with 9" non-adjustable uprights
(about 5 1/2 inches from trailer frame to bottom of crossbar.)
If you already have some round Yakima crossbars you can order our Trailer Kit without crossbars
Deduct $50 for the Trailer Conversion kit with NO crossbars.
