Oars, one pair
Excellent values here in lightweight and sturdy oars...
The Sculling Oars are finely crafted basswood with a sculling blade, very smooth an quiet thru the water! These are the Alden or Piantedosi type of wooden sculling oars, not a utility type. Sculling oars are Lightweight with good strength and durability. Reg. $500/pair. Sale $289.95 Sold as one Pair of oars.
For sculling oars you use special pin set that clamps around the oar, this type is generally seen on sculls or rowing shells (unless you have a special rowing unit that drops into your canoe or paddle board.) Made in USA by Mitchell.
The Spruce Oars (shown) have the traditional oar shape. Spruce Oars are Lightweight with good strength and durability. $249.95/pair. Sold as one Pair of oars.
For Spruce oars you can use an metal oar lock pin set that clamps around the oar or one that pins thru the oar. We also sell the metal Clamp-on type pinset for this type of oar if you need a set.

The Aluminum Oars shaft is made of lightweight aluminum and a fiberglass reinforced Nylon blade to ensure maximum strength and durability. A 7.5" x 18" blade delivers superior power and control. A no-slip handle makes maneuvering easy and comfortable. $119.95/pair. For Aluminum shaft oars you should use an oar lock pin set that clamps around the oar. We recommend the Clamp-on type of pin set we have in stock.

Proper oar length varies with the width of your craft but in general we recommend 6.5ft oars for most for most canoes and the Old Town Discovery Sport, OR 7ft oars for Grumman SportBoat and most aluminum jonboats OR rowboats.

Bolt-on Oarlock sockets are the black molded style we use on Old Town, Wenonah and Esquif vinyl canoe gunwales. Hardware included is good for most models.Clamp-on Oarlock pinsets are metal and may be used on our Aluminum oars and most wood oars. We like this style since you can easily customize the pinset position on the shaft for your particular boat.
