Our new custom made Werner Canoe Paddle with a carbon shaft and a sturdy reinforced foam core fiberglass blade is the answer.  
This Werner paddles is a great choice for expedition paddling since it's very light weight with loads of performance, but also rugged. 
You do not need to choose lightweight, or toughness, or performance. Now you CAN have it all in one paddle!
Werner paddles are durable and long-lasting, plus they have good power and are smooth and quiet through the stroke, a Pleasure to use.

The volume of a buoyant designed fiberglass foam core blade creates an exceedingly light feel. This POPS the blade from the water for effortless forward strokes and confident bracing. The smooth blade is quiet and helps to make linking strokes easy.
With decades of experience in blade lamination, the edge guard of our Ultimate performance canoe blades is designed to be super thin, creating a knife like feel in and out of the water. Impact and abrasion resistant for traditional canoeing. Countless hours of testing developed an optimized flex and strength. With our attention to detail and full carbon shaft construction you feel comfort all day, all year, without sacrificing power or confidence. Our traditional symmetrical palm grip is comfortable. Made from fiberglass, it will help keep the overall weight of this paddle down.
