Kneeling Thwart with Hardware
Install a solo paddling station without adding the weight and bulky size of another seat.
A Lightweight outfitting option for better control while solo paddling a tandem canoe.

We normally install a kneeling thwart in-between the yoke {center} and the rear seat. If you already have a thwart in that location the kneeling thwart would take it's place.
Pro tip... Our Kneeling Pad is a great compliment to the kneeling thwart.
Beautiful solid wood construction is very sturdy. Contour edges for comfort.
These are our favorite kneeling thwarts... Straight or Contour profile. Smooth flat surface. Nicely contoured edges for a great fit.

Included spacers lower the kneeling thwart below the gunwale to the proper level and angle for your comfort...  Wood spacers are preferred for most canoe models. These are bolted thru the gunwale, just like you other thwarts and yoke but with a spacer to set below the gunwale. These are generally riveted to the gunwale (similar to how the gunwale is attached) and then bolted to the wood kneeling thwart.  Aluminum strap spacers may be preferred if your aluminum gunwale is rounded on top and not good to bolt thru vertically (such as on many Wenonah and Bell canoes.)  These are generally riveted to the gunwale (similar to how the gunwale is attached to the canoe) and then bolted to the wood kneeling thwart.

Includes one Kneeling Thwart, with stainless steel hardware and spacers (choose Wood spacers or Aluminum spacers.)  We offer Two Kneeling Thwart styles here; both are easily trimmed to the exact length needed for your particular canoe....

Contour Cherry Kneeling Thwart, oil finish. $89.95  Our luxurious Cherry Kneeling Thwart is ultra-light with a really sweet contour shape and rounded edges for comfort.
