Old Town Hardware for Canoe Seats, Yokes or Thwarts
Sold per each. Hardware component parts for Old Town Canoes and Kayaks.
A typical wood canoe seat, yoke, thwart or handle is 3/4" to 1" thick plus 3/8" for washer and locknut, plus the thickness of your gunwale. Most canoe brands use one bolt per side on a yoke, thwart or handle. Occasionally we see two per side.
2 1/2 inch size is generally used to mount yokes, thwarts or handles from thicker gunwales such as Old Town vinyl or wood and NovaCraft vinyl, wood or standard aluminum gunwales.
1 3/4 inch OR 1 1/2 inch size is generally used to mount yokes, thwarts or handles from thinner aluminum gunwales, as seen on Royalex Penobscot, Canadienne, Bell canoes.
Choose: 6" OR 4" OR 3" OR 2 1/2" OR 1 3/4" OR 1 1/2" bolt.
Flanged Cup Washers are added to bolts to keep bolt from sinking into the gunwale material when tightened. Used with handles, seats, yokes and thwarts.
Choose 3/4" cup washer for aluminum , wood or vinyl -excellent for most canoe gunwales types. $0.99 each
Choose 1" cup washer for Old Town vinyl gunwales only. This cup washer will be too wide for other gunwale types. (since many gunwales do not have enough flat area for this larger 1 inch cup washer.) $1.99 each.
Stainless Flat Washers are added under wood seats, yokes and thwarts. Choose 3/8" flat washer under yoke and thwarts. $0.49 each. Choose 3/4" flat washer under seats. $0.49 each.
Stainless 10-24 Lock Nuts are added to secure wood seats, yokes and thwarts. $0.49 each.
